Good to know

Embossing

To emboss means to experience haptic. An embossed print result you can feel. This result is achieved with the help of a heated metal stamp, which deforms the surface forming a relief. The form and the material of the stamp, temperature, time of embossing and printing pressure are the deciding factors for the optimum embossing result.

Old school. The embossing is placed by a stamp or with letters from type case put together by hand, positioned on the product and applied with a hot stamping press.

Name embossing

Mine. With a name- or theme embossing a germanmade. product unmistakably becomes your unique product. No chance of confusion.

Embossing, which can be chosen in the germanmade. configurator, is processed with the font type Helvetica, the type size is fitted according to the size of the product.

By default the embossing for our cases is placed on the “Front side bottom middle” or “Inside bottom middle”.

The sleeves are embossed on the front side “middle bottom”.


The embossing for leather on the outside of a product is realized “blind” since the natural relief already has a strong effect.On book linen and artificial leather an additional accent is realised with a transparent glossy foil, making the embossing more concise.

Logoprägung


1. Blind embossing

The conventional embossing. Sometimes less is just more. When it comes to logos which are complex and full of details, a high quality demand pays of with the investment in a high quality brass stamp (cliché).


2. Glossy foil embossing

Hot business. Hot business. For this variation of embossing the embossing stamp is heated up and pressed on a colored or metallic foil, which is detached and then transmitted on the printing material. The motif is lowered due to the embossing and therefore builds a nice relief.


Laser engraving

Engraving with depth. A laser beam removes the top layer of the material in micro millimetre range and places the logo on the cover in a razor sharp way. The engraving appears black (just like burned) and highlights detailed and filigree motifs wonderfully.

With a laser engraving we bring all font types, each logo as well as signatures on our leather products.


UV digital printing

Brilliant colours. Without compromises. With most modern technology nearly every material is permanently printed on and an outstanding representation of picture details and continuous colour transitions are guaranteed.

Question about our iPad cases

Yes, our cases fully support the Sleep/Wake function.
Yes, first of all the front flap can be folded around the back to create a landscape support for typing. It provides enough of an angle to make using the keyboard just that little bit easier. Additionally our cases offer a vertical stand. Cut into the wood at the bottom left edge of the case are two grooves that you can place the naked iPad in, propping it up vertically in either landscape or portrait orientation. It's extremely stable and makes a nice desktop stand.
The hardcover is smudge-proof and can be cleaned with a moist cloth. Our faux leather and leather cases are chosen with extreme accuracy and get a great looking Patina.
We offer two options: #1 being on the central bottom part of the front side of the cover and #2 being placed centered, on the lower bottom part of the left inside cover. The name embossing will be ‘blind’, if you want it to have a certain color, please contact us directly: info@germanmadepunkt.de
All cases are assembled modularly. If any component has suffered optically or if they don't appeal to you anymore, all screws, rubbers, the inside frame and the hardcover can be ordered and exchanged easily and quickly. This idea of sustainability is also very important to us.

Yes, cut outs allow access to the side switch and volume rocker, dock connector port, headphones and power button; there's even a shaped cut out for the speaker on the back of the iPad, which projects the sound forward. There's no access to the back camera, but taking the iPad in and out of the case is a breeze thanks to thumb-sized cutouts for leverage. If you still think you cannot live without that cut-out, please do let us know and we’ll take care.
As all germanmade. cases are geared to the dimensions of the iPad itself, the usage with an iPad skin inside the case is not considered being necessary. The case offers the desired effect of protection already.
We have differentiated solutions for each generation in order to guarantee optimum hold and protection for the respective tablet computers.

The frame is built out of several thin and massive wood layers which are glued together in a 90 degree angle. This results in a stability which is up to 10 times higher than it would be with regular massive wood plates. On top of that it gives our frames that unique and sophisticated look of antique book pages.

Questions about our sleeves

Normally we place the name embossings on the central bottom part of the front side. The iPhone sleeve allows for 10 characters, all other sleeves give you the possibility to use up to 30 characters.

Questions about delivery and customs

We regularly employ services provided by UPS, DHL or DHL Express, while naturally making sure every shipment is being registered and insured. We ship all of our products in custom-made boxes, ensuring safe delivery.
Yes. We deliver globally.
Customs, duties, and taxes vary widely from country to country. Customers outside of Germany are solely responsible for all duties, import taxes and brokerage fees. These are not included in the cost of shipping. Please check with your local customs agency for details on estimated costs. Customs, duty, and taxes are non-refundable.
Our packaging is made from FCS certified material. Furthermore we do not use unnecessary packaging – for the good of the environment.
